Teaching Assistant

Affinity Partnerships are working in collaboration with secondary schools in Bristol who are looking for a full-time SEMH (social, emotional and mental health) Teaching Assistant to start as soon as possible.

The schools want to give their students the best chance of success, so the individual must be, charismatic, inspirational and encouraging to the students that they will be working with.

This role will include work on a 1:1 basis, as well as support across the class and will need to follow EHCPs of some of the students. Successful individuals must have experience working with children and in UK school settings.

The successful applicant:

  • Have a sound understanding of Secondary Education
  • Have excellent literacy, Numeracy, and communication skills.
  • Confident supporting the KS3 and KS4 curriculum
  • Have experience of supporting children in all aspects of the curriculum
  • Will be a team player, as well as using their initiative and good sense of humour
  • Have experience of working with children with a range of additional needs including Autism, Speech and language difficulties both in smalls groups and 1:1.
  • Have a positive approach and be flexible to the demands of the job.
